So far, we’ve briefly talked about what Post types are, but now let’s dive deeper into what they are exactly. Our goal here is for you to understand and apply specific needs to the correct WordPress terminology.
Post types are the different ways that you can organize your content on your WordPress. They are called post types because WordPress was originally thought of as a blogging platform, but it has since evolved, as we have already covered.
There are 7 Post types in WordPress: Posts, Pages, Attachments, Revisions, Navigation Menus, Custom CSS, and Changesets. You can add your custom post types too.
